I dont know how many of you watched the ending of the Jets-Browns game today but it was one of the worst calls i have ever seen. Jets down seven, fourth and four from around the 18, Pennington throws to the endzone ball caught by Chris Baker, Browns safety forces him out, official rules out of bounds. Catching the Ball Right Before he got Drilled He has about two feet to make that catch, there is no way he was going to land out of bounds. Im looking for a video of this. Question to non biased fans who saw this, whats your take?

I saw it and I couldn't believe they didn't even review it. I thought it could have gone either way in a review but to not even review it was crazy. They even called a time out to give them more time to decide to review it or not.

Wu, i dont think they can review it because it is a judgement call. It was a tough call for that ref to make from where he was, but looking at it here, it seems pretty clear it went the wrong way.
Edit: That being said i think that plays like this, ties should be given to the offense. Now i know its easy for me to say this now, but its just you never know what kind of plays that recievers can make, they can get their feet inbounds when it seems impossible.

I watched that game. Pretty shitty performance by the Jets, but they almost pulled it out in the end.
You can't review a judgement call such as a "force out". At first I thought he either juggled it or only got one foot in. On the replays you see it's an amazing catch and a legitimate amount of space to get his feet down. It was a weak call.

As a Bills fan, I can only smile and be glad this situation didn't happen to me for once.

The guy I was playing in another fantasy league started The Chad, so I'm happy the Skets got General Tso's Chickened by the refs.
Ha ha!
***edited to add, upon closer review, looks like a definite hosejob.

Welcome to Buffalo south, hope you don't have to get used to it like we have. On second thought, I do hope you have to get used to it. Remember that Vinny Testeverde 'touchdown' when he was stopped about 2 feet short? This evens it out.

I dont get all this buffalo talk, is there a specific play (or plays) you guys are talking about? Any examples that you could bring up. Im not talking no goal either, was there ever a big game changing blunder like this in a bills game that still gets at bills fans?
Edit: Vinny's TD was a gift. The reason this is such a big deal is because the jets had an outside shot at the playoffs, but that is pretty much gone now. Jets have the second easiest sched. left in the NFL.
Go ahead and flame me for saying the jets had a chance at the playoffs.

Specific Ref Blunders:
1.) Home Run Throwback against Titans in the playoffs. That was a forward lateral.
2.) "Just give it to them," Andre Reed overheard the refs say when neither saw where a Patriots player went out of bounds near a first-down marker on fourth down. Replays clearly showed the guy went out of bounds before the first down marker. Pats scored and won the game.
3.) Peerless Price or Josh Reed caught a two point conversion to tie the game against the Titans very, very late in the fourth quarter. While raising the ball to show the refs, it slipped out. Refs ruled incomplete, Bills lost.
4.) Andre Reed being ruled down outside the goal line against Miami in the playoffs on third down, bills trailing by ten. Replays showed he was in. Bills kick the field goal, fail to score tying TD after recovering the onside kick.
5.) Same type of play as the one the Jets got hosed on yesterday, but they ruled Jimmy Smith would have come down in bounds on the last play of the game against Jacksonville opening day in 2004. Stupid Nasty Nate. That's a judgment call too, I guess, but being the impartial fan I am he would have come down out of bounds. Bills lost.
These are just the first five I can think of, but there's more. Anyone else want to chime in?

Wasn't that Ernest Wilford that got pushed out of the back of the endzone against the Bills? Or was it the play that set up that position when Smith got behind Nasty Nate on the sideline?
Edit to add: I've never been a Bills fan, but I watched that whole Titans game. No one will ever convince me that wychek threw that either even or behind him. It was at least half a yard in front of where he was.

Touchdown Throw Back was not a forward lateral, just a great play. If you had said No Goal then I would have agreed with you.

Ive seen so much of that one play (music city miracle) and i just cannot tell whether it was a forward lateral or not. That is one play that could be argued for ever.

Bills-Pats in Foxboro- November 30, 1998 The "Just give it to them" Game:
Bills up 21-18 late in the 4th quarter and the Patriots facing 4th and 9. Bledsoe throws to the Bills sideline where Pats WR Tony Simmons appears to land out of bounds and short of the first down marker. As the refs gathered to discuss the call, Andre Reed clearly heard one say "just give it to them". New England was awarded a first down but the game was still clearly tilted towards Buffalo.
However, Henry Jones was flagged for pass interference somehow on a 'Hail Mary' and Ben Coates scored a one yard TD with no time on the clock to win the game for New England. Instant replay was installed the following season.
Music City Miracle
It goes on and on.....

That was back when they had those thick plasticky screens. Meanwhile I pointed and laughed.

That year before instant replay was installed had to be the worst year of game-changing blown calls. Vinny vs. the Seahawks was one of those.
I'd have to say the Oakland Raiders have the two biggest hose jobs in NFL history. The Immaculate Reception: raiders players, fans, even some media swear one or two of two things happened on that play. 1. The ball touched the receiver and not the raider who made the hit. Therefore, Harris couldn't have caught it without a penalty. (Same type of play happened in Super Bowl V. Ball popped off a Colt receiver, fluttered in the air and just over the extended arms of Cowboy CB Mel Renfro. He comes close to touching it but you can't really tell if he does because it doesn't move. The ball falls into TE John Mackey's arms and he scores. They said he touched it.) 2. The tip of the ball hit the ground when Franco Harris caught it.
No 2. hose job was the "Tuck Rule". Raiders should've been in the Super Bowl that year.
