Have you heard that Theisman played professionally? He broke his leg too; on national TV.

Mike Schopp and the Bulldog are on the air today predicting that Joe Theismann is going to lose it on the air at some point this year. Their point is that Tony Kornheiser and Mike Tirico are smart dudes, while Theismann is functionally retarded and contributes nothing to a broadcast. At some point during the season, they're just going to start ignoring him, and he'll freak out and go postal in the booth. I'm waiting for that to happen. I heard Kornheiser and Theismann were getting into it in the booth last night. I think Monday night football is actually going to be pretty good because I like Kornheiser and agree that him and Theismann will be at each other's throats all year and Theismann will lose it. Theismann = fuckstick.

Heading out the the stadium in seven minutes. Although I'm not overly optimistic about this season, I'm still excited to head out there.

I didn't think JP played too poorly. The fumbles are bad and were the result of holding on to the ball too long. He just needs to throw it away or protect it better when taking a sack. Had he thrown it away and it was picked, we'd be saying he should have taken the sack. He got sacked/ fumbled, so we say he should throw it away. Those sack/ fumbles were a direct result of Losman holding onto the ball too long. He'll learn. The interception was bad, but INTs are a part of football. The best thing a QB can do is shake it off. That's why Kelly would always clap after an INT. What are you going to do? He responded very well and hit Lee Evans on the next series for a 40+ yard TD strike.
It was a clear improvement from a year ago, where JP would one-hop screen passes to his receivers. When he didn't one-hop them, the passes would sail over the receivers' heads. Anyone who watched one game last year could see the obvious improvement. It was a giant step in the right direction.
They moved the ball against a first-string 2005 playoff defense. McGahee's best run wasn't his 61 yard dash, it was the run where he fumbled. He made three guys miss before being grabbed from behind and losing the ball fighting for extra yardage.

sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/scorecard/08/24/cutler.brushback/index.htmlORCHARD PARK, NY -- Halfway through the NFL preseason, the rookie quarterback that's making the biggest impact in the NFL is Denver's Jay Cutler, who has been accurate and composed in his first two games. Cutler's performance has prompted some teams to second guess their decision not to select him up in the draft, including the Buffalo Bills, who had only a passing familiarity with the Vanderbilt senior prior to draft day. After watching Cutler's impressive performance on Saturday against the Titans, GM Marv Levy wishes he at least Googled the guy. "Wow, I had no idea he was that good," said Levy, who used his top pick on Ohio State safety Donte Whitner. "I didn't even know what school he was from. Then I decided to Google him and found all this information about how awesome he was in college. Huh. I guess I should have done that before the draft. I also should have Googled Donte Whitner, because apparently he isn't very good." Levy and his staff set their sights on Whitner from the get-go and never bothered to research alternatives to the mediocre safety. In the future, Levy will utilize the information superhighway in an effort to get an edge on the competition. "The internet really is a wonderful tool," Levy said. "All the information is right there at your fingertips. Did you know that Cutler was projected to go in the top 5 in almost every mock draft? He was. I Googled his name myself. I Googled the names of several players and got all kinds of information. Then I Googled my own name. Ahem. Let's just say there is such a thing as too much information. I think I'm getting a restraining order against the entire city of Buffalo." By passing on Cutler, the Bills left their quarterback situation largely unresolved. J.P. Losman is the favorite to win the starting job, but he has been inconsistent thus far and might not be a long term solution. The Bills also passed on star USC quarterback Matt Leinart, because they didn't think he was the right fit for their system. "We saw a lot of Matt during his career at USC, so I guess we can't say we didn't have enough information," Levy said. "It's just that he didn't seem like the right guy for the job. We didn't want some flashy, overhyped kid coming in here whizzing touchdown passes all over the place like some big franchise quarterback. Please. Super Bowls are won in the trenches. That's why we spent a fifth round pick on an offensive tackle." The Bills aren't the only team who passed up on Jay Cutler. The Oakland Raiders, who had recently released QB Kerry Collins, used their pick on a safety Michael Huff. The Detroit Lions, having jettisoned QB Joey Harrington, took linebacker Ernie Sims. So why the bias against Cutler? One scout says that all the hype may have simply backfired. "A lot of these guys just thought Cutler was one of those kids that flew up the draft board just because everybody was jumping on the bandwagon," the scout said. "You can't blame them for being skeptical. On the other hand, if you're desperate for a quarterback it seems kind of strange to pass over the two best ones when they fall into your lap. I guess I'm just from the old school, when you used the draft to address your weaknesses, not to screw up the whole franchise." Despite being passed up by ten teams, Cutler wasn't surprised or disappointed on draft day. Instead he is grateful to be with the Denver Broncos and eager to prove the doubters wrong. "Things happen. I had no idea where I was going to go anyway," Cutler told reporters Monday. "I actually visited with the Bills before the draft and they were very polite and wished me luck, but they didn't seem too serious about drafting me. Marv Levy peeked into the meeting and waved and called me 'Jay Cutter' and then took off. The rest of the scouts were like 'eh.' So I guess it's up to me to prove them wrong. Actually I don't even have to do anything. I can just sit back and let J.P. Losman prove them wrong. And Donte Whitner."

Remember Bills fans, you heard it from this Dolphins fan first that passing on Cutler and / or Leinhart was the dumbest thing they could have done. Enjoy a couple more years of GMs with big heads trying to turn a fag with no talent into an NFL quarterback.

Losman fits Bills, named Buffalo's starting QB Associated Press
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- J.P. Losman was named the Buffalo Bills' starting quarterback Tuesday, coming out on top following an offseason-long competition to reclaim the job he lost last year.
Coach Dick Jauron made the announcement after practice, saying Losman had clearly performed best during training camp to earn the No. 1 job in a three-way competition that included journeyman veteran Kelly Holcomb and free-agent addition Craig Nall. "I told him he should feel good about it, he earned it," said Jauron, shortly after he informed the quarterbacks of his decision. Jauron, who as recently as Monday declined to name his starter, said there was no point delaying the decision any longer with Buffalo preparing for its preseason finale at Detroit on Thursday and with the regular-season opener fast approaching on Sept. 10 at New England. "We just wondered why there was any reason not to say it if we all thought it," Jauron said. "It gets him used to hearing it and getting the team used to hearing it. There it is." The news did not come as a big surprise after Jauron named Losman the front-runner two weeks ago in training camp. Ever since, Losman has taken the majority of snaps in practice and started the past two preseason games. "It's good for him to actually say it, but I've been getting kind of comfortable here the last couple of weeks," Losman said. "It's exciting times but it's time to really go to work now." Losman was inconsistent in his first preseason start in a 44-31 loss to Cincinnati on Aug. 18. He went 7-of-11 for 134 yards passing and a touchdown, but committed three turnovers, including an interception returned for a touchdown. Losman was more efficient in last weekend's 20-17 loss to Cleveland, going 15-of-22 for 184 yards passing with a touchdown and an interception. Overall this preseason, he's gone 37-of-57 for 462 yards passing with two TDs and two interceptions for a respectable 87.0 quarterback rating. He struggled as a first-time starter last season. He was awarded the job in February -- a move that led the Bills to release veteran Drew Bledsoe. Losman's status as No. 1 didn't last long, benched in favor of Holcomb after opening the season 1-3. Holcomb went 2-2 in four starts before he was hurt in the second quarter against Kansas City, a game Losman rallied the Bills to a 14-3 win. Losman, however, started and lost Buffalo's next four games and was replaced again by Holcomb, who went 1-2 to finish the season. Holcomb had the better numbers, finishing with a higher completion percentage (67 percent to Losman's 50) and quarterback rating (85.6 to 64.9), and had 10 touchdowns to Losman's eight. Both threw eight interceptions. Nall, the former Green Bay backup, was added to the mix when the Bills signed him in March. His development was hampered when he missed two weeks of training camp because of a hamstring injury. Jauron added that he has not yet determined whether Holcomb or Nall will open the season as the primary backup.
