General Tso's Chicken 'em. I'll pay to take out a full page ad in the BV promoting the BevelWagon. Who do I send the check to? A fantastic response. EXALTED!! Too bad the Evil Toolboxes cannot be more like you, Bonafide. And I say that even though you once took a poop in a little kid's clubhouse, then returned a different day and set the place on fire. Edited to add: The more I think about it, the more I want an ad. Count me as one who will help chip in. I'll chip in for an ad as well. But let's be honest, how much can an ad in the BV really go for? I'd imagine it wouldn't cost much, if they even have ads in there at all

Two things. First off, a full-page ad in The Bona Venture costs $510. Secondly, could someone please post on the other board that there has been no posting by this account on the other board yet because we have been waiting for a couple of days to get our account approved.
Obviously we would like as many people to know about it as possible, so the sooner that we can get our account validated and get this information posted, the better off we'll be. Thanks for your help, and for the discussion. The paper is up to be viewed now.

Moderators, Bevelwagon Gods, whoever, please email me if you need a couple of $$$ to advertise in the BV and where I need to send the money. I never went on the old alumni board for a reason, this is the first thing I do every morning when I get to work.

I am for advertising and the more people here the better, however I think we should put some thought into it before we get too serious about doing it in the BV. First I assume someone would have to approve the ad and want to see what they are promoting, and would our board be deemed acceptable? Even if it is do you think this might draw the eye of faculty/officials that would not approve of what is discussed here being associated with the school? Could that open up more problems for us then actually helping us? Just some things we should probably think about before we actually do anything since this could have some serious effects on our board.

Fuck 'em.
I vaguely remember something from law school called...uh.... freedom of the press. Anybody fucks with the Bevelators about running an ad in the BV I'm gonna sue the muvafuckin' shit out of 'em and that's no muvafuckin' bullshit....... I truly will. You Bevelator dudes go ahead and put an ad together and post it up here on the BevelWagon for everybody to take a look at. Once everybody has their say we'll ship the muvafucker off to the BV to run. I'll pay for it but if other Bevelators want to kick in that's fine too. I wanna do a full page.
Aloha!

I am very against advertising in the BV. As much as anyone else, i too would like to see more people but advertising in the campus paper is not the way to do it. We are too easily shut down to make ourself visibile in this kind of medium. We are using trademarked images without permission and that is enough to get the board shut down if some one sees us and does not agree with what we say here. I think that we take too big of a risk if we advertise in the BV.
P.S. is there any way to save some of the posts, there are some great stories and rap battles on here that i would hate to lose if something happens again.

The continual fear of being shut down why we need our own board. I would posit that any trademarked images being used are by private individuals in private message board communications and not to make any money. HOWEVER, WHO KNOWS what the host of this board would do if someone complains?
Since several Bevelators indicated a willingness to cough up some bucks (including me), how about taking up a collection to get our own site so we don't have to sweat this muvafuckin' cocksuckin' bullshit ever again.

To be honest, I'm not really sure that we would be able to run an ad from this board, if that helps solve any problems or questions about running one. I don't really know what we would be advertising, I guess, and I think the problems listed above could become an issue, in terms of the administration becoming upset.
However, there is a message board system on our web site, and once it gets up and running, there will (hopefully, once I figure out how to do it) be links to both boards in there).
Thanks again for the feedback today, and let me know if there are any more questions.
Thanks also for cosmonaut launch pad's post on the other board, in the hopes that we'll soon be approved because of it.

I'm not a lawyer (although I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night), but I would seriously suggest not having an ad in the BV. If an administrator found any problem with this site (such as the fact that prospective students and their parents routinely pick up the BV during campus visits), I am willing to bet this site would get shut down in a second. Take for example the background on here. Did anyone get permission to use the Bona logo on here? I remember awhile ago on the old, old board, Fox got permission to use the Bona logo.
And while their is such thing as freedom of speech, their is also such a thing as slander.

I would just like to let thebv know that they should ignore the criticism from Jim62 on the Bandwagon. He's held a long-standing platform that only students who graduated from Bonaventure before 1948 are worth anything and that all current students and recent graduates are morons and losers and probably on wellfare. The guy is like 95 and probably senile.
