BV Tim, I'm glad you found the BevelWagon and shared the web addy for the BV Online. I was just curious as to how you stumbled upon the BevelWagon.

Well, I have covered the basketball team for the past two years for The BV, so I have come to check out the Bandwagon, and then popped over here to get the word out about the web site.

What are your thoughts of the Bevel compared to the original. And feel free to be completely honest. I'm just curious as to how a casual, objective observer compares or feels about the two boards. Think of yourself as a focus group

Is the Laurel still around?
Back in the early 90s, I remember my friends and I trying to book the Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling (GLOW) in Butler Gym. No dice.

Advertising in the BV = the death of the bevelwagon. Not worth it.

Hey BV Dudes...
First of all I think that you are doing an awesome job and WELCOME to the BevelWagon! Second, don't pay any attention to Jim62 or his buddies on the Banned Wagon. The very existence of the BevelWagon is due to a whole bunch of us alumni just getting sick as hell over the narrowness and terrible bias of some of the folks on the Banned Wagon.... people like Jim62.
On another note, if you want to know the TRUTH about anything that happened at Bonas from the late 1960's until the present us Bevelators will give you the straight shit. Just ask.
Don't worry about any criticism. A famous SBU journalism grad who is a Pulitzer prize winner used to smoke de ganja and drink vast amounts of Genessee Beer (red label) and PBR with me and my roommate Donny like constantly when we were all students. Didn't hurt Charlie one muvafuckin' bit and, in fact, probably contributed to his sense of creativity. Sumbitch was Editor of the BV at the time too. Only problem was that muvafuckin' Donny had a tendency to throw up a lot so we always had to ride with the window on Donny's side rolled down. Made some trips kinda chilly.
Aloha!

I just read the online edition today and it looked great. My only comment/suggestion is in the marketing of it. This might be obvious but the demand to read it on-line will probably be more from alumni that don't have access to the print version rather then students. Only a very small percentage of alumni read these message boards so maybe it would be a good idea to put a story about it or at least an ad in the Alumni paper that gets sent out occasionally. An article detailing how the on-line version came about would probably generate the most interest and reach the largest amount of your target market.

Is there anyway to get the student perspective or whatever it is called in the online edition, if it is still around. (The one where they ask a few random students a question, take a head shot and print the response)
My all-time favorite was from when I was back one weekend after I graduated. There was some sort of stranger danger on campus and the question asked what the students were going to do to ensure their safety in light of the recent events.
Some student responded: "hit the weightroom extra hard to protect myself and the girls on campus"
I found it tremendouly amusing.

Fudge1 was a head shot once. His quote: "Yes, I love free rides" was unrelated to the question.

They had those student perspective things back when I was there. They were always a source of much amusement.
BV Tiim, I have a lot of suggestions from working at my current employer on how to spice-up the BV. How about a "Girls of Dev" pictorial? A couple of centerfolds? Or a sex advice column? Oh, and Tim, you should start wearing pajamas and a smoking jacket around campus.
Just a few ideas.

In case you weren't aware of it BV Tim, Olean Ron is a very high level employee of Playboy. Yep, that is the muvafuckin' truth. You check out the Playboy masthead and Olean Ron is up there pretty close to Hef.
I'd listen to Olean Ron, BV Tim. His ideas are sure to boost BV circulation.

The Bona Views are still around (at least the idea) and will hopefully be on the Web site soon. I will take into consideration using the smoking jacket - it's a nice touch.

Heh...I'm not sure about "high level", but everything else Bonafide said is correct.
I still stand by my "Girls of Dev" pictorial. Actually, one of the ideas I pitched to our editors was a special "scratch-and-sniff" edition of Playboy. Unfortunately, that was soundly rejected.

I wish the cave-man/ pirate kid was a Bona View at least once. I would have clipped and saved.
I wish he was my roommate for a semester.
