Every time I've been to Pittsburgh(three times) I have enjoyed a wonderful Pittsburgh treat. If memory serves me right it was a sandwich, cheesesteak piled high with fries and coleslaw, I enjoyed mine minus the slaw.
I enjoyed this treat downtown near Pitt. I want to say it was called a Parnani but I'm not sure and it's bothering me.
Anyone with knowledge of the subject please do share.
***On a side note I also bought a case of 12 oz Olde English cans in Pittsburgh. Fun city.

Buffalo has no dirt cheap beer? For shame, Wu Tang.
Genny Pounder Cans six pack: $2.99 Genny Pounder Bottle case: $9.99 Naraganset = Dog water. I don't know the price but it tastes like battery acid.

I guess I consider Genny Rochester, but you are right close enough. I guess growing up with it I sometimes forget it's a local brand.

My junior year i went to bradford to pick up a keg or two for one of the days during spring weekend. We got a keg of keystone and i am a big IC fan so i got a half keg of that as well. We tap the half keg first and it tastes like absolute ass. A mix of wine, ammonia, and italian dressing. Most couldnt finish a cup but two brave souls perservered. Shark - took a funnel of this toxic beer and we order pizza and the delivery guy "sweet pete" took a keg stand.
we ended up calling the distributer and getting a free replacement keg.

My first encounter with Iron City was in the movie The Deer Hunter. That's what De Niro and Walken are always drinking. First beer to come in an aluminum bottle as well.

Yeah, Southampton. That was some skunky ass beer. If I remember correctly, sweet pete was hurting after that one.

That Schaefer beer used to be brewed in Buffalo right on Niagara St. Schaefer was some very nice shit. Went down smooth and wouldn't give a person the shits like that Genessee Cream Ale. The Schaefer outfit initially bankrolled the Rathskellar back in 1968. Legal drinking age was 18 which meant EVERYBODY partyin' like mf's in the 'skellar. Sumbitch rocked back then including one hell of a hot juke box. Remember watchin' the '68 Mexico City Olympics on TV in the 'skellar. Only memorable 'cause it was the first time in history that the Olympics were transmitted by satellite and because I was higher than a mf on some super primo ganja. About the same time there was a lot of plotting and scheming going on among some of the 'skellar heads about ripping a scale off from the Chem lab to weigh up a bunch of ganja for retail student sale. Don't think that ever happened though.
