I was looking at AFI's top 100 Comedies of all-time the other day. What a terrible list it was. While I love classic, older films, it was so pre-1970 heavy that I hadn't seen 60% of them. www.afi.com/tvevents/100years/laughs.aspxI can't make a top 5, so I'll put my underrated favorites. - Johnny Dangerously - Dirty Work - Better Off Dead Don't post like 20 movies though and steal everyone's thunder.

- Friday, the next 2 are decent too if you give them a chance. Mike Epps is great but everyone will always say Smokey (Chris Tucker) was better in the first one.
- How High, again one I think you have to give a chance and see a few times to find funny and even then some don't but i like it. Meth and Red are currently making a part 2 as well.

I think most of the AFI top-100 lists are voted on by stuffy old farts, so not surprised some better comedies were left off.
Three comedies I would sit through no matter what today: National Lampoon's Vacation Fletch Just One of the Guys

While I do generally agree with the top ten, with the exception of "Annie Hall" (I just don't have any tolerance for Woody Allen's pretentious incestuous bull$hit), I canNOT General Tso's ChickenING BELIEVE THAT CADDYSHACK COMES IN AT #71!!!!! That movie should DEFINITELY be in the top ten, for the cast alone: Chevy Chase (when he was funny), Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight....that's like the all-star line-up of comedy alone.
I find it funny that the word "poooon" is filtered.
National Lampoon

Animal House
Kingpin
Bad Santa
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Artie Lange's movie coming out September 15th "Beer League" could go down as a classic. It looks really funny.
P.S. If anyone puts Dodgeball in this thread you should be shot.

Dumb & Dumber and Anchorman. I thought both of these movies sucked the first time I saw them, now i laugh my ass off every time I watch.
Zoolander
Shawn of the Dead. The first line of the movie is, "Can I get any of you cunts a drink?" Hilarious zombie movie.
Kentucky Fried Movie is also a classic.

Dude, how can I forget "Kentucky Fried Movie"? I'm a huge fan of the 70s underground comedy movement that spawned KFM, the Groove Tube, and Saturday Night Live.

Zoolander is one of the very few times I find Ben Stiller funny.
Shaun of the Dead is solid.
To add on Cosmo's post. Anyone who posts an Adam Sandler movie post 1998 or so should also be shot.
Three Amigos I'd have to add to my underrated/underappreciated list.

And what's with "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" coming in at #40??? When it was made (60s), it had just about every major comedian in the past fifty years, with the exception of Chaplin and Bob Hope. I know some of you young'ens might never have seen it, but it was a staple of the Saturday Afternoon Movie when I was growing up. Great stuff.

An abosolute General Tso's Chickenin' classic, Bus. Great call. I loved her brother Buddy when he was showing her how a dude should grab his balls. OR when she showed her tits at the prom. because I'm a huge John Candy fan, I'd go with: Plane, Trains and Automobiles Great Outdoors

Glad to hear another fan juicy. Used to be an HBO staple growing up. Nothing better than a pg-13 movie with boobs. Also, oddly recall the daughter from Mr. Belvedere being the chick that falls for Terry and ends up with Buddy. In the words of Buddy, "ALL BALL'S ITCH"

Clueless just reminded me that we got to see Stacy Dash naked in Playboy last month. It was worth bringing up the movie for that alone.
