I can see myself staying here, the only down side is housing costs. The area is great there are tons of things to do and it would be hard to find a more cultural city so close to home. At the same time it doesn't feel like a big city, I live across the bridge by the Pentagon in VA and I can be in and out of the city in 5 minutes. The winters here are also virtually nonexistent. Plus working for the government is worth it for all the benefits you get, but the down side is the pay starts out kind of low if you don't have a mba but moves up a lot annually. If you or any other business major wants to make the move let one of us know, Bonaventure people are not difficult to get hired here, and we always like now people to party with.
Also I tried staying around Buffalo and wanted to be there but I have no regrets on the move and can't see myself moving back there after living here.

I definitely want to go back to DC. I used to live a lot closer but I currently live about an hour and a half to the west and I really miss northern VA and the city. As wutang said, the biggest drawback is the housing costs. They are really through the roof.
If you would be spending most of the time near the city, a tip to beat the traffic would be to live inside the beltway. There are a lot of places along I-395 in the Shirlington, Arlington, Lincolnia areas. The Springfield 95/395/495 interchange will kill a lot of time. You can be 15 minutes early for something in Arlington, hit Springfield and end up being 15 minutes late.
But overall DC is pretty amazing. If you get a chance to move there you should go for it.

dull
if you move here i know of a pretty decent street hockey league. softintheo still plays in the fall session i just played the spring league. nutt uhhh. maybe we could even defect and start our own squad, get the 'OG' to come with you and we can get the band back together as well.
cost of living is an adjustment and i miss the fact that whenever you go someplace new to eat you never know what to expect of the pizza and wing quality unlike WNY when you are almost always guaranteed a decent wing. now i know i am not as versed as cosmo and don't eat wings that much but the fear leads me astray sometimes.
yes, you will not miss the snow.

Pizza in the D.C. area sucks. Plus the Redskin coverage is nauseating. No, I don't live there. My old man has lived about 45 min. outside of D.C. for the past 8 years or so though.

wutang, i do have the MBA so that wouldn't be a problem. My ex's aunt is a big acct/finance headhunter down there and knows some people in the SEC I guess. Sounds like a good opportunity and everything is very prelim but wanted to get ideas from you guys.
I like to drink but down there I imagine you can actually take a saturday off from drinking and still have many other things to do with all the museums, monuments etc. I drink every day here in Buffalo and my liver can't take much more.
RimRocka. I play in a league up here so my skills are still sharp. With Softintheo and I at the blue line with our wrist shots and you screening the goalie and getting under the opponents skin we'd be an unstoppable force.
Keep the info coming fellas. Charlotte was another city but I've had a few people that live down there (SBU people that will remain anonomous) that say all they do is drink and that the city doesn't have any real culture behind it.
Does DC have POWER LIFTING facilities so I can get HUGE like $ymmetry?

I played on Sunday nights, where the "rusty trombones" destroy everybody, including the team I play on. I play at the same place. We ended up one win over .500 Next year though I'm going to a team that will be stakkkkked.

If you can get into the SEC I would do it, I don't think that is easy to do. If you can't then become a government employee here and get a few easy step increases and then try to transfer there as it is easier to transfer within the govt then it is to get in.
Plus we got every major sport here and besides skins tix everything else is pretty cheap. I am not really a fan of the Wizards or Caps but it is cool to go when they play someone good and Nats games are fun and will be better once the new stadium is built. And as far as location, you got everything in B-more about an hour away, Philly a little over 2 hrs and NY a little over 4 so you are close to a lot of stuff. There is a large amount of WNY people here in general and it is not difficult to find a Buffalo bar to watch all the Bills/Sabres games either. I would make the move.

Dull,
I like the DC area so much, I am in the process of buying a house here. I don't want to jinx it though, as the settlement isn't until the end of September. The first home renovation I'm going to do is to put in a hyperbolic chamber in my back yard, so if you come down here we could train and get huge like VEGETA.
You should definitely come down here. If you don't have anything lined up jobwise, us Bevels down here could definitely land you an interview. As Rimrocka pointed out, the wings aren't anywhere near as good as Buffalo, but don't worry I've got a couple hot spots picked out down here.
The one big advantage D.C. has to Charlotte is location. It's not a bad car ride home and close to a lot of other cities as Wu-Tang mentioned. So if you get homesick, you take a long weekend and drive home.

Not to change the subject completely, but you brought up a thought with the house thing.
What was everyone's first big purchase after leaving bonas? I always said I'd buy Direct TV for the NFL Sunday ticket package, but it doesn't look like I'll do that. I did buy a car in June, though.

A Cadillac, now I need to work on the house, or probably more like a condo for this area.

Thanks for the thoughts gents, the cool thing is that I'd have a base of people to eat sloppy wings with and train to get HUGE like Rim Rocka. I have to talk to the headhunter for a bit but if I can make things work out I'd probably do a visit to see the area sometime soon.
My first big purchase after college was quitting my horrid accounting job after 3 months at M&T and deciding to get the MBA at Hilbert in Hamburg, NY.
