Is anyone else as big into College Football? At times I love college football more than professional. I think it has to do when my NFL team is having a bad year, or when every team I hate professionally is having a good year. But, I think it's not having Monday hanging over your head, and knowing that you can go out and party after the games are over, then get up and watch football again the next day.
Anyways, here's my top 10 for this year:
1. Ohio State - as much as I hate them 2. Notre Dame - Defense will improve, the offense will be even better. 3. Auburn - returning QB & RB (Irons) plus tough SEC games mostly at home (LSU, Florida, Georgia) 4. Louisville - cupcake schedule but beat West Virginia 5. Texas - Can now beat Oklahoma on Road 6. Florida - second year for Urban. watch Percy Harvin 7. Cal 8. Florida State - Miami suspends starting RB and WR for opening game. 9. Iowa - Drew Tate 10. USC - they'll drop further in the beginning of the year, then rebound.
Yes, I have very little to do at work today.

I would like college football a lot more if people weren't so obsessed with it. College football is the dave matthews of sports.

I'd say the Dave Matthews comparison is better suited for March Madness. You can count every year that people will come out of nowhere and start telling you, "this is why college basketball is so much better than the pros". While I agree, I hate hearing it from someone who watches no basketball until march.
That, and every asshole and their girlfriend fills out a bracket. But Kudos on comparing annoying obsessions to that of Dave fans. There's nothing more annoying.

I actually didn't mind Dave Matthews Band until I went to St. Bonaventure. Fucking hippies there ruined it for me. They also ruined Phish. But I never liked them much to begin with.

Id get into college football more if they had a good way to settle the national champion. Besides last year there is always too big of a debate on who should be in the titel game. The BCS is a sham. Any sport where if you lose 1 game then your season is General Tso's Chickened to me isn't as great of a product. Get a playoff and college football would rank way up there. At least with March Madness you have a means to an end. All that said, the top 10 posted above looks pretty good to me but id have West Virginia in there over Cal or Iowa
... and 2 things Bonas completely ruined for me: Notre Dame football and Dave Mathews. I heard about them both so much it made me want to puke.

If dave matthews played college football the world would explode.
And i agree that the bcs is bullshit. . but so does everyone. I don't understand why there can't be something like an 8 team tournament. Shorten the season by 2 games and have a tournament. Would make a retarded amount of money and would end the bickering between morans like us who consume the product.
Also. . .the reason I don't really like college football-- When I was in college I read books, went to class on a somewhat regular basis, and wrote papers. A former Bona grad, Adrian Woj, wrote a great article in The Record (a new jersey paper) on how they should just end the shame, pay college football players salaries to work in these college football factories (Ohio State, Miami, USC, Oklahoma, etc.). Of course he was being sarcastic, but I'd say he's not to far off the mark.

I agree completely with the BCS garbage. The problem is the NCAA pulls in so much from the Bowl Games, that it'll be tough to have the playoff. There's been much debate as to how many games there should be, but 8 always sounds decent. Will some teams be snubbed anyway? sure, but if you have 8 teams it's not likely that the 9 and 10 teams are true contenders anyway.
As a Notre Dame fan, kc, I have to agree. It was annoying for me to see so many "fans".
I put Louisville up there instead of WVU, because I think Louisville will beat them. Cal, I just think Lynch and a steady QB will be enough in the weak ass Pac-10

Everyone's got their own tastes and opinions. But some people's are wrong. Like those who think "Signs" is a good movie.
