Question i got in an interview

New Pizza Puzzle:

You and a friend are about to eat a pizza. You know that it always takes you x seconds to eat a unit of pizza, and you know it takes your friend y seconds. Once the pizza is cut, you will both start eating at the same time. Each person can eat only one slice at a time. You cannot touch the next piece until you finish the one you're eating. Out of generosity, you have agreed in advance to allow your friend to have the last slice if you should both happen to reach for it at the same time. Assuming that you would like as much of the pizza as possible to end up in your stomach, into how many equal-sized slices should you cut the pizza?


I got this while applying for a job with Athena health care in MA. I have no idea how im going to answer it.

if y is greater then x then the anwser is 2, if they are even it doesn't matter

Not sure about if x is > y, but it would probably cutting them as small as possible.

Could the answer be an equation ad not a real anwser?

Why the fuck would you want to work for a place that asks dumbass questions like that?
I wouldn't eat a pizza unless it was served with a MINIMUM OF TWO Genny Cream Ale 40s. Nothing mentioned about the Cream Ale 40s in the question = the place is probably full of superdouchebags like SDots's co-worker. Avoid it.
