Since I was home sick yesterday I played an awful lot of video games. Does everyone still play video games a lot, or has your video game playing decreased since college. I go in streaks now. I'll play for a few months, then go a few without. I definitely play more during the winter. I just got the new Final Fantasy 12 game so that should keep me busy for awhile.
I'm hoping this thread can serve as an area for people to talk about any good games they might be playing.
Also, anybody plan on camping out for a PS3? I don't really care much about getting the system to play, but I'd love to get one on the release date and make a quick buck. I do plan on getting the Nintendo Wii. Much cheaper and the games should be just as good as PS3. I could give two shits about blue ray and all that crap. Plus I love the idea of being able to download old Nintendo games on it.

PS3 looks pretty solid, but my days of camping out for stuff is pretty much over. I agree, the turnover on flipping one just intime for X-Mas would be huge. The idea of being able to play old Nintendo games on Wii intrigues me as I think I would care less about new game graphics and rather play old-school mario, Operation Wolf, Blades of Steel, Tecmo, etc, etc,.

A scene from my first Video Game love, Megamania You're a space ship and you shoot hamburgers, cookies, french fries, radial tires, diamonds, clothes irons, bow ties, and dice. The cookies, tires, irons, and dice fall on you as well as shoot at you. I don't know where hamburgers learned to shoot spaceships, but it makes for an exciting experience. I played it for Atari when I was little, then I bought an Atari Anthology for $10 a year ago. The game is just as fun now as it was when I was three. Best adventure game ever: The Legend of Zelda.

I still play video games whenever i have time to. Unfortunately the post college days dont allow me to play as often as I want. Im with you on the NIntendo wii. Reasonable priced and should be a great system. The controller will be a bit of an adjustment but ive read its very intuitive. The idea of downloading the old NES games is a big thing in converting me back from Playstation. Nintendo lost our generation when PS 1 came out and they didnt do much. Then N64 just didnt cut it. Game Cube is good but it didnt have all the good games that people liked so i never got it.

Game Cube is good but it didnt have all the good games that people liked so i never got it. The Gamecube was missing a lot of great games that the other systems have. But Nintendo still has a lot of great games that the other systems don't. Zelda, Mario, Starfox, Donkey Kong, just to name a few. And there's my favorite, Super Smash Brothers. This was such a huge game during college. We played the N64 version nonstop and also played the Gamecube sequel quite a bit. The Wii version should be GREAT. Anyway, I think the reason the Gamecube wasn't as succesful as the other platforms is that they never created any great versions of the games I just mentioned. The Zelda game fell short (too cartoony) and there was never a classic Mario game for it. They churned out a lot of Mario party games and other Mario spinoffs but no traditional Super Mario brothers adventure game. If the Wii creates good versions of these classics, it could really end up coming out of the pack smelling like roses. I am very skeptical of the PS3 because of the price. The last system that had a price tag in the 600-700 ballpark was the Neo Geo and it was a huge failure. I think it will sell like hotcakes at launch, but if the initial versions of the system don't deliver, they'll have to really drop the price or Wii and 360 will steal a lot of market share.

BLADES.... OF..... STEEL... (dling)
Games I'm looking forward to getting back into: River City Ransom, Skate or Die I & II, Ninja Gaiden, Excite Bike, Tecmo and RBI Baseball.
I actually stopped playing video games for the most part in college. I never bought a PS2. I just played other peoples. We had seasons of Madden Freshmen and Sophomore year, but I didn't play as much junior year, then barely anything senior year.
Being unemployed for a few weeks until recently, I wished I had a system.
There are so many games and systems out today that I don't think kids will grow up like we did and wax nostalgic about the classic games we had. There aren't as many games that every kid has to have.

I OD'd on ESPN NHL 2005 for months. Led the Rangers to something like three Stanley Cups or whatever. Also loved playing Freedom Force, Star Wars: Rebellion and any superhero-related game. But then my son was born, and I don't think I've touched a controller since then. Although Justice League: Heroes and Marvel's Ultimate Alliance both seem really awesome. Oh, and I'll play about any wrestling game on the market. Love the RAW vs. Smackdown and Legends of Wrestling series.
Even if I still were majorly into games, I don't think I'd shell out $700 for a PS3. I don't even think it'll sell like hotcakes during the launch, because I can't see how parents (I'm talking about the vast majority of middle-class working parents, like myself) will shell out $600-$700 for a game system that could very well be rendered obsolete in a few years. Speaking of, wasn't one of the main selling points of the PS2 was that you could "upgrade it" into, say a PS3 or something like that?
Actually, a game system was my Red Ryder BB gun...in 1981, at the age of 9, my parents said I could either have the Star Wars AT-AT OR an Atari 2600 (both retailed for $100 at the time). I chose the AT-AT, because I figured the 2600 would be around next year. As Christmas Day drew nearer, it was a decision I soon came to regret. Anyway, Christmas Day comes, there's the AT-AT, it's cool. We're finished opening presents when my Dad says, "Hey...there's one more present behind the tree. I go and see a big box. Still not knowing what it was, I opened it. The picture my Dad took of my with the look of pure joy on my face as I unwrapped the box is my Mom's favorite picture of me when I was a kid. Five years ago, my sister actually got me an old 2600 and for a long while, it was the system I played the most.
My college roommate used to sit in my friends room for--literally--13-14 hours at a time playing entire seasons of Tecmobowl. It was great for me because I could hook up in the room.

River City Ransom was a great game. But it was super easy to beat once you saved up enough money for the thing that made you be able to use a weapon super fast.

Although Justice League: Heroes and Marvel's Ultimate Alliance both seem really awesome. Oleanron, I got Marvel: Ultimate Alliance on Monday and it is awesome. Any fan of Marvel will go nuts over this game. The amount of characters you can choose from is great, and as you play with each character and level them up, you can change their costumes and whatnot to classic and modern versions. Now I have a dilemma. I don't know which game to play, FF12 or Ultimate Alliance. Either way it pretty much makes me a nerd.

Before I swallowed that bottle of pills, I jumped on a turtle on the stairs near the flagpole in my backyard. Fat lot of good that did me.

Sorry that didn't work out for you. Good work cosmo, because while I chuckle every time Logan posts, I didn't get that joke. I'm guessing you sensed that with your follow up, dumb-down post. Us retards appreciate it.

The bar i always go to just got Ms. Pac-man, one of my all-time favorite games. I must have pumped in at least $5 the other night. I still prefer arcade games over Xbox and all that other jazz.
