Six Niagara men's basketball players will face suspensions ranging from one to eight games as a result of their involvement in an off-campus incident on Aug. 31.
Five Niagara players are due back in Niagara Falls City Court on Monday to face charges stemming from an incident outside a Niagara Falls bar involving Niagara baseball pitcher Jeffrey St. Denis. Charron Fisher and Stanley Hodge are facing assault charges, while Javonte Clanton, Kamau Gordon and Lorenzo Miles are charged with disorderly conduct.
As a result of the athletics department's investigation, Athletic Director Ed McLaughlin said that Fisher will face an eight-game suspension. Hodge, Gordon and Benson Egemonye will face two-game suspensions, and Miles and Clanton one game each.
McLaughlin said that with the exception of Fisher and Egemonye, the suspension dates will be staggered at random to ensure there are enough players to permit

The last time I commented about this kind of activity which was about a Duquesne player being shot after a dance, I was immediately jumped on and called a racist and a few other things.
Let me take a different approach.
The Niagara players may have taken a chance of hurting their bare hands by hitting the baseball player.
Therefore, Niagara students should have provided the Niagara bball players with clubs, guns, bombs, rockets and anything else that would have protected the athletes from harm to themselves.
Is that OK?
Am I now "PC"?
