Being a huge baseball fan I'd like to see how you folks think this season will pan out.
I dispise the yanks so i'm pulling for the blue jays to win the divison. . allowing the white sox to get the wild card and the sox and janks left to bitch. I also hate the entire A.L. and the bullshit dh.
Mets in the east, Cards in the central, Dodgers in the west, Padres with the wild card.
Who dare disagree?

I am right with you about the DH though. The Tigers are going to come out on top of the White Sox. The Red Sux are on their way SOUTH with Waritek's knee injury. Your NL predictions seem to be money though.

Because it seems to happen every year I will say either the Sux or Yunks will win the division and the other the wild card. Detroit will win the central and Oakland the west.
I concur with the NL predictions as well. Should be a good end to the regular season and there is nothing like playoff baseball.

My thoughts on Interleague play
They should play NL rules (no DH) in AL ballparks and vice versa. Imagine a DH in Colorado?

I think the only two clear picks for the playoffs today are the Mets and the Tigers. Both the AL and NL West are messes and I think eventually it will be the Dodgers (because they seem to have the better talented team) and the Angels (better pitching) that will win those. I have a few more thoughts, but will wait until I have a few more free moments to get into that.

The al west isn't a mess. The a's and angles will be in a dog fight till the end with the A's prevailing.
After watching the yankees destroy the blue jays i'm having second thoughts about my whole blue jay prediction. But the yankees have nooo middle relief. But then again, they way they're swinging the bats jose lima could pitch the middle innings and they'd still win.
I don't see a team beating the in mets in a 7 game series in either leauge. Everyone will get on me about pitching but here me out. Traschel will be a 5th starter by years end. Maine will either be the 2,3,or 4 along with glavine and el duque. El duque is UGE once october comes around. I put glavine in that group with el duque and maine because he's getting up there and it's starting to show. I think the mets will see oliver perez in the big leauges this year. . plus you have pelfrey who once he calms down will be extremley effective. That's 7 pitchers who can give you at least 5 innings.
The hitting speaks for itself. Beltran 96 rbis on 102 hits, Wright is hitting something unheard of with 2 strikes (i believe it's around the .300 mark). Once reyes gets on base this team becomes electric. and of course. . .our young jeeezzzzy. . Lastings "thug" Milledge.

He was really cool. My senior year I would always just walk in his room and skip like 20 minutes of class just talking to him about baseball and the Bills (his dad is from the Rochester area). btw, John bought him an Escalade.

Just got back from watching the Braves play the Pirates at PNC Park this afternoon and last night. What a stadium that is, nothing like the view out into the Pittsburgh skyline....Primanti Bros sandwiches and $6 beers.
Also got to meet Bob Wickman before the game...he seems like the perfect type of guy to be a member of the Bevel Wagon

the pirates should have been decent. I love the underdog. . or in this case the dog being dragged underneath the bus. Jason bay is sick. Xavier Nady was one of my favorite mets. . so i'm following him in pittsburgh. I don't know who is in that front office but they need to get their ass in gear because that's a city that could thrive on baseball. Clemente is one of my favorites as well. Good tag about maine's dad. He's gonna be a great pitcher. Dare I say hall of fame caliber?

and of course. . .our young jeeezzzzy. . Lastings "thug" Milledge. I heard Lastings Milledge got busted for hitting on Willie Randolph's daughter during batting practice. That'll put you in the doghouse, homey. Also predictions: NLDS: Mets over Dodgers, Cards over Phillies ALDS: Angels over Tigers, Red Sox over White Sox NLCS: Mets over Cards ALCS: Red Sox over Angels World Series: Mets over Red Sox

I made a road trip this weekend to NYC and Baltimore with two other Bona grads. The purpose of the trip was to get BENT, watch some ballgames and get BENT some more....and get a little heemeed up as well.
On Thursday, we sat in the upper deck of Yankee Stadium looking directly down the first base line as the sun baked us in our seats. Everyone was a puddle of sweat during what had to be the hottest human experience of most of the fans' lives. On field temperature at game time was 118 degrees and the upper deck was not much cooler. There was no saving breeze or protective clouds yet we drank and drank and drank. I've rarely gotten as BENT as I was that afternoon.
On Saturday we caught the Yankees-O's at Camden Yards. We started boozing at an outside bar at about 12:30 and by 3 pm we were all well on our way. However, that dreaded thing called heat exhaustion crept up on me and for a few minutes I thought I was going to pass out. My vision got fuzzy, I broke into a cold sweat and sat down. A busboy grabbed me a water and walked by, not realizing I was about 15 seconds from passing out cold. I managed to get to my feet and stumble into the bathroom. I proceeded to toss into the sink much to the dismay of the crowd in the bathroom. After wiping down and regaining some strength from the water, I gave myself a deep look in the mirror worthy of an Oscar and said, "No more General Tso's Chickening around you f*gg*t"
We were out until 1:45am and blazin before heading back to the hotel and I didn't miss a beat. The baseball was good but the booze was better. Thats usually how it goes ON THE ROAD

EXALTED! I'm planning my retirement before I start my employment. Every major league and Triple A ball park.
On a side note. . .Mr. John Maine had another amazing outting. 3 hits no earned runs. That's now 23 scoreless innings for johnny.
