First, I hope everyone is able to find their way to the new board. Let's try and do the phone tree thing and get word of the new URL to members who might be wondering what's going on.
Ok, from what I have gathered, this is what happened. Our board violated the Terms of Service, which I didn't even really know existed. I think someone tried showing me how another board was censoring posts because they didn't want it to get deleted, but I thought nothing of it. Guess I should have paid attention.
Also, it was either me or another staff member that violated the rules. That's why we didn't get a warning. If it had been a regular memeber, I would have received 72 hours to remove the material. So for the new board myself and anyone who wishes to be a moderator will have to be on good behavior. By good behavior that means we have to abide by Proboards terms of service which are:
"user's web site may not contain content promoting the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, nudity, or any other form of adult content, profanity, hate, "spam," fraud, racism, mlm, pyramid schemes, or promote any illegal activity."
Also members should stick to these rules as closely as possible. Because either proboards will force me to delete it, or someone from the Bandwagon will turn us in again. I'm not positive that's what happened, but I don't think it's crazy to assume so.
I know that it sucks, because this is the exact censorshiip we were trying to avoid. But we are working on a long term cure for this problem. Hopefully in the future we can build forum that that is hosted on a separate server and cannot be censored by anyone. I will keep everyone posted, and am also open to suggestions.

But what will the Bevelwagon be without pyramid schemes?

I'm guessing it was probably my Daunte Culpepper 'article'. What a shame and my apologies to the Bevelators. I hope word gets to bonafide

The more I think about it the more this really sucks. We had just hit 300 members, our number of total posts was quickly approaching the BANNEDWagon and now we have to start from scratch.
However, there are some positives that can come out of this. We have a better understanding of how the Bevel should operate and can set up the discussion threads appropriately if needed. Thats all I've got for now

Sdot, First, do you want to be a moderator again? The job is still yours if you want it. We'll just need to tone it down a little. And don't flatter yourself with the Daunte article. It could have just as easily been my screwing with the Bandwagon posts. I really think someone over there turned us in, but maybe not. Also, can you modify the BevelWagon MySpace profile accordingly? I'll work on getting a message to Bonafide and Captain Ron through the alumni site if no one has done it already.

I'm spreading the word.... Hopefully we can find a server that allows us the freedom of speech. What a disappointment it is to see all these low post numbers. I was on my way to post 250 by the end of this week.
RIP Original BEVELWAGON!!!!
I think we should congratulate ourselves on violating nearly every single one of those terms. If you're gonna break a rule, might as well make it worthwhile.

I found this site at home tonight and I want to throw it up here so I can look at it more tomorrow at work, it might be some help for us to find a permanant host... www.ozzu.comspecifically this thread... www.ozzu.com/ftopic43638.htmlThose directed me to this site which is basically the free code for a message board... www.phpbb.comAnyone with any experience ever do anything like this, maybe a permanant solution is to get a pay host, get a real url like bevelwagon.com, and use this code to get a real site up. Granted there would be some small hosting fees but I don't think they will be much and I am sure we could figure something out. Anyway that is more of a permanant solution that we can discuss here for now.

I just wish I knew for sure whether it was someone from the Bandwagon who turned us in. We hadn't been messing with them much, but I'm wondering if someone had beef with me messing with their posts and reposting them on the BevelWagon. I'm guessing within a month the new BevelWagon will be running full steam ahead.

I want to take this opportunity and thank you first and foremost COSMO for all you have done for the bevelators and the BevelWagon. I know your job has not been easy and you are not one for censors, but i truly appreciate your efforts.

Greetings Gentle Bevelators. How are all of you doing today? I think this is maybe a message that we need to be kind and gentle on these boards. We can all act like ladies and gentlemen I am sure. This is a second chance so lets all turn over a new leaf. Who is with me?

I know your job has not been easy and you are not one for censors, but i truly appreciate your efforts. Thanks, but think nothing of it. In all honesty, these things aren't that hard to set up. It's getting them looking pretty that takes time, and I had a lot of help with that from all the moderators. I just hope we can get back all the members who were really enjoying the old board back. What really makes me sad is all the great material we lost. All the great rants, classic photoshops, pics of people who look like other people, not to mention Bonafide's Nam stories. From now on I'm going to archive really classic posts, so that we have backup in case ProBoards decides to fondle us again. No, I don't have the filters set yet, I just remembered that one.
