It's not more difficult to win a shootout than to merely tie after overtime? What im saying is no shootout after tied overtime, 2 combined points, one for each team. With shootout after tied overtime 3 combined points 2 for winner of shootout and 1 point for loser of shootout. It is easier to get a higher point totatl with the shootout. And a Smite for Mikenice for telling it like it is with shootouts.

I agree the point system needs fixing. Every overtime game is now a three point game. That's bullshit. You should not get a point for losing.
But since NHl teams do, I think they should make every game worth three points: Three points for a regulation win, two for an OT/ Shootout win, one for an OT/ Shootout loss, and zero for a regulation loss.

I have no idea how to classify it, if i had to pick i would say yes, they are still undefeated. The way they have it now it makes the winning streak easier to attain and the undefeated streak harder. And EXALTED for your honesty. I know if a different team that I detest, like Philadephia or Toronto, made a run at the winning streak to start the season, I would have used your argument about shootouts being ties. Then I would have said nope, they lost in a shootout in game eleven. That's only because I hate those teams and don't want them or their fans to be happy. Any other team I'd be fine with wins coming in shootouts.

NOW DO YOU BELIEVE?!?!?!Can you believe this fucking team? Down 4-1 on the road with 9 minutes left and we come back to win?? Are you kidding me? They are officially the Anti-Bills. It's impossible to not like this team. A former Bona baseball player from Pennsylvania came over last night to visit my roommate and basically watched the whole game from the 2nd period on. He's a Pens fan but couldn't help but start pulling for Buffalo with the heart they showed coming back. When it was 4-1 and Buffalo just missed a scoring chance, I made a loud sigh and got a little pissed. My roommate says, "Dude, get over it. They lost." I said, "No fucking way, you can give up on this team." I didn't really think they would come back, but you can never count this team out. They showed why last night. THESE GUYS ARE GOOD....SCARRRRRY GOOD!!!!

One team. One goal.
If Buffalo wins the cup the city would be destroyed. Seriously. There would be riots. I would knock down M&T Plaza with my fists then walk over to SteakOut and get a Hoagie. Only to return and dismantle the Metro Rail with my hands. All it takes is a sensu bean.

As I have done after every win so far this season on my buddy's voicemail, I shall now continue here:
You know we're gonna win that cup, you know we're gonna win that Stanley Cup, me and my Buffalo Sabres, Yeah Yeah Yeah!

Some ridiculous projections with Buffalo Sabre Stats: Thomas Vanek is on pace for 109 points and a +89 for the season. Maxim Afinogenov is on pace for 55 goals and 75 assists for 130 points. Ryan Miller is on pace for a 61-0-7 record. Danny Briere is on pace for 82 assists and 103 points. Chris Drury is on pace for 68 goals and 103 points. Buffalo is on pace for a 75-0-7 record and 157 points. I'm on pace for 279 gay Sabres posts this season

Do you think Ryan Miller will be passed over for the All Star team this year for Rick DiPietro, Robert Eshe, and John Grahame?

Considering DiPietro's the best goalie in the East... yes

In all honesty miller's stats are not all that impressive. He is only 11th in save percentage and 12th in GAA. It would be mildlyt surprisng to me if he did not make the all star team simply because he is undeservedly getting most of the credit for their start.
Sabres are winning because their 2 3 and 4 lines are playing just as good as their first. The balanced scoring is what is working for them. When your scoring 1.2 more goals per game than anyone else in the NHL, it is pretty easy to win games.

South, I gotta disagree with you there big time. Ryan Miller, if anything, is underrated. Don't let stats tell you the whole story. Ryan Miller single-handedly kept Buffalo in the game last night. Boston was dominating Buffalo in the first and second period and Miller kept them in the game. None of the goals scored by Boston last night were Miller's fault.
The fast-paced, aggressive style Buffalo plays leaves Miller out to dry a little more often than most teams and his stats suffer for it. Buffalo would never be able to play this style with an inferior goalie like, lets say, Rick DiPietro. Mikenice, please tell me you were kidding with that post.
No one is giving Miller a ton of credit for Buffalo's start except for the people that don't watch the games. Miller is playing very well, with the exception of maybe the Atlanta game, and Buffalo is winning because of goaltending and the best offensive attack in the NHL.
South, stick to evaluating Jets RB's compared to Hall of Famers so we can all dog the Jets some more.

With the new rules almost all teams are playing this way, there are no teams that grind out games like the flyers, maple leafs, or the blues used to in the mid - late nineties. The style does not hurt miller any more than it does any goaltender. No one is giving Miller a ton of credit for Buffalo's start except for the people that don't watch the games. So the people with all the knowledge that watched the games dont give him credit? That was kind of my point was that he was getting undeserved credit. Im not trying to say that Miller is not a good goalie, because he is, i just dont think he deserves credit for buffalo's great start. South, stick to evaluating Jets RB's compared to Hall of Famers so we can all dog the Jets some more. And i wasnt comparing a jets RB against a hall of famer, i was comparing him against Thurman Thomas

Its the aggressive, attacking style of their D specifically that seperates Buffalo from the rest of the leauge. Obviously, when you do this, you are vulnerable to some odd man rushes in the other direction when you are a little sloppier. Thats exactly what happened against Atlanta, and unfortunately for Buffalo, ATL was talented and fast enough to capitalize. And i wasnt comparing a jets RB against a hall of famer, i was comparing him against Thurman Thomas Thurman will be in the Hall soon enough south.
