Why wasn't he a contestant in Douchebag Survivor? If I hear "young men" one more fuckin time, I swear I'll drive to Olean and 319 the shit out of that motherfucker.
Weird how the players change, but our problems have been the same all four years.

I wouldn't argue that Sol isn't a lousy coach. But I always think that when you make a decision to keep a guy for another season, you give him another season. What does anyone actually think firing this guy mid-season will do for the program? Sad to say but this team isn't going anywhere this year with or without Sol as a coach. You fire him mid-season and then you're going to get some bum in there as a replacement, with the same results if not worse as you were getting with Soloman. Let this season play out and then do a thorough search for a head coach who can get things going in the right direction.

I dont really want to fire him mid season, but i want him gone the second the season is over. I was one of the people preaching patience when people were calling for his head earlier but getting blown out by st. francis (pa) is embarrassing.

i thank god for this board. The bannedwagon. . .which I'm not saying is a bad board. . .but it seems they all put on some phacade and act like they're writers for the new yorker. Sol must go. And for everyone who thinks a college hoops coach can't be fired during the season. . .i.e. things would only get much worse from making a move as such? Well. . .how much worse can they get. I subscribe to the old bromide that any press is good press. We have talent. We should be able to win games. Don't tell me cyrus was leaps and bounds better than lee or williams because that's garbage. We have a consoler. . .not a coach. I have no other adjective to describe my frustration with this program other than tired. Tired of excuses, tired of blowouts, and tired of losing. I have the utmost pride in my alma mater and it's as if someone is playing a cruel joke on me and running it into the ground. Enough with the costume administrations. GET THE JOB DONE.
sorry that turned into a rant. guess i should actually go to work now.

My favorite post over there is someone complaining that they called sol and the assistants about some tournament in Syracuse and the coaches didn't call him back. Whaaaaaa...Seriously get a life you big baby. For those not allowed on the Bandwagon, you're not missing much but a bunch of knuckleheads as bonabum describes

Don't get me wrong Cosmo, I'm not asking them to fire him mid season. I just want them to make up their mind before the season is over that he'll be gone. This way they can at least formulate a list of potential candidates.
I won't give away the player's identity, but he was one of the best players on the team while Solomon was there. He was also a friend of some bevelators here. We'd have him over to the townhouse after games, and he openly told us how much Solomon sucked.
He went so far as to say, "Hey, VBK could at least coach". He said the whole Solomon act of being an upstanding, quality leader was just that, an act.
After we got killed at St. Joe's last year, I said something like "looks like we got outcoached a little". to which he replied, "yeah, ya think?"
Then he and another player told us the offense Sol was running that day and how stupid it was.

If what you say is true, and Bevelators almost never lie, this shows a much more serious problem with Solomon. It appears, at least from this players comments, Sol has lost the team. Now, we don't know all the details, but the way you worded what you said it seems the player is no longer on the team. Is that fair to say? If he's not, I'd be curious to find out if he graduated or if Sol wanted him off the team/he transferred. If its the latter, maybe he was a bad seed on the team and the rest of the players are still buying into Sol. If all the players feel the way this one does, the coach-player relationship is fundamentally flawed and there's no way Sol will succeed here. For the Bonnies sake, I hope he was a bad seed. If not, we are in for a looooooong season

He is no longer on the team, and he was not a bad seed.
I know at times he seemed to like Solomon as a person, but I know he didn't respect Solomon as a coach, and there are several more players last year that said the same thing.
That's the most telling thing to me too. His players don't respect him as a coach.
From a different player last year: He was telling us the story of the last play of a game. During the timeout he doesn't draw up a final play... he just says they're going to get the ball to Isiah Carson over half court and "he's gonna make something happen". That was the play. And the player telling us the story goes, "I'm standing there, like, we've got Ahmad Smith - All A-10 standing next to me and you're giving the ball to Isiah?"
I'll tell you how much respect a coach should command. It's no secret that several of us used to hang out with Relph last year. One night we decided to ask him about West Virginia and all sorts of basketball stuff. We tried to goad him into saying something bad about Coach Beilein and Pittsnogle or Gansey.
He suddenly got real serious and said he wouldn't say anything bad about his coach or teammates. That's a school he transferred from, and supposedly butted heads with Beilein. Yet he had enough respect for those guys to not bad mouth them to us at 3 in the morning.

So we barely held on to beat Central Connecticut.
On a side note, someone on the BANNEDwagon posted that among those bonnie fans in attendance making noise was a young alum who is about to relocate to DC.
Was that The Dean? I know you're originally from CT, and not too far away now. Plus you said you were looking to move there.

Just got back from the Bona-Niagara game. what a joke. the sooner anthony solomon is out of here, the better. He has no idea how to coach a basketball team at this level... probably at any level. i hate him

Is it just me, or when reading up on the games the next morning on gobonnies.com, it always seems to say, "the University of ____________ used a 30-0 run in the second half and held off the Bonnies ____ - ___ TO EARN THEIR FIRST WIN OF THE YEAR". We are everyone's first win of the year, no matter how bad they suck, we suck that much more. Solomon sucks. He couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag with scissors in his hand. There is no way around it. Its gonna be another long season. I am rethinking about going to the Canisius game on Dec. 23rd. I'd rather battle crowds at the mall and finish my Xmas shopping than watch another $hit product get thrown out on the court under the name of SBU Basketball. I'm pissed.

Doogie, I agree with your points exactly. Only thing I can think of is go to the game on the 23rd with signs saying "Olean Ron for new head coach" or "Jim62=White Solomon" and get the word of the Bevel to a larger audience.

That would be great. I wish we had BevelWagon T-shirts made. I know we've talked about it. We gotta get motivated and follow through with some of these grand schemes.

I coached JV boys basketball for two years and freshmen boys basketball for another. Maybe I should apply for Solomon's job when he gets the ax. I couldn't do any worse than Sol. Anyone on board for being my assistants? I will pay you in Genny Light pounders and an unlimited supply of beef jerky.
