The "other" site has a post up about the best home game wins in RC history, so I figured that the "Bevel-nation" could come up with a few stories of its own. Here's mine....
My junior year (1999-2000) the home game against nationally ranked Temple when Bremer hits that deep three in the corner to win it with less than a second left. The game itself was amazing, but the crowd was like nothing I had ever seen, aside from Cameron Indoor Stadium for Duke-UNC. It was our first day back from Christmas Break and everyone was back on campus early for the game. We had a pre-game party in my Garden Apt. with my dad and all of his buddies and we all were BENT TO THE MAX. My roommate went on cruise over break and came back with a bunch of rum and we got tanked. I really don't remember much of the first half but the second half was unreal. "RE" tossed the cookie at Cheney and "Yoda" went nuts and got T'd up. The RC went crazy after that. With about 3 minutes to go in the game, my dad came down to the student section and asked me if I was ok, because he could tell from his seat in the reds from across the gym that I was so hammered I could barely stand up straight. He said that I was "like a Webble-Wobble". Anyways, Bremer hits the shot and after a desperation miss by Temple we rushed the court. I got about half way out on the court, when I felt my stomach get ready to spew rum all over the place. I made a quick B-Line to the hallway and shoved my head in a garbage can. As I was sitting there puking everyone walked out and saw me and I was pissed not about throwing up and embarrassing myself, but that I missed the "party" on the court.
That night at the OP when the basketball team walked in together the music stopped and everyone in the place gave them an ovation. Probably my best moment in my four years at SBU.
