Don't get me wrong, I loved the move. But I'm kind of on the side of the frat boys on this one. Yeah they are huge douche bags, but as a former, and sometimes still drunk, when you drink like that sometimes you say some things that you don't mean. Or even if you do mean them, you have the common sense to keep it to yourself. I don't agree with anything they said, but I had a feeling those kids were duped into signing the release form. The guy from the car dealership was on Don and Mike the other day. He isn't upset, because he didn't say anything to hang himself, but he did mention the way they got him to sign the release form was suspect at best. And they only paid him $150 dollars. The success of this film depends on these poor fucks and their reactions to Borat. You would think they could at least pay them a little more money. These kids have a pretty solid case. Especially if they were drunk when they signed the release form. For those of you who remember Dr. Swann's class, a contract can be voided if the person was not in a sound state of mind when they signed it.

I heard somewhere that sort of thing came up with the Girls Gone Wild people all the time. They end up on television commercials, only to be spotted by their respective fathers. The father gets angry and threatens to sue if his daughter is not removed. The filmmaker promptly shows the signed release and how much the naughty tramp agreed to be paid. So far, I don't think I've heard of any successful lawsuits.
Granted, the drunk masterbation fodder knew they'd be on Girls Gone Wild. These guys thought they'd be on in Khazakstan. Lord knows I've said and done some things I shouldn't have while drunk, but even I'm not stupid enough to go on an camera and lament the downfall of slavery. It sounds like they're using the Mel Gibson defense. Nobody forced them to say that stuff.

Of course... maybe the Borat guys were the frat guys Puppetmasters? Cosmo, weren't you on the SBU Varsity Puppetmaster Team? You can't be held accountable for everything you led poor unfortunate saps into doing, can you?

I just think the deuch frat guys are looking to cash in. I'm sorry they were drunk and made comments (which likely they actually did mean to a large extent), but no one held a knife to their neck threateningt hem to sign. They see the movie raking in millions and now want to cash in.

He seems like a normal 20 something, who had this great idea, and has since fallen assbackwards into a ton of cash, and now hangs out with tons of celebrities. Maybe a year or so ago, someone broke into his house, tied him up, video taped him and made him admit to being gay (even though he isnt).

Maybe a year or so ago, someone broke into his house, tied him up, video taped him and made him admit to being lance bass (even though he isnt). I love the lance bass filter. It makes me laugh a lot. But for some reason this really cracked me up. I guess I just pictured a guy scared and tied up saying, "I'm Lance Bass! Please, I'll do anything. I'm Lance Fuc*ing Bass!!!"

When it comes to the rodea dude, who was obviously of clear mind when he made his statements I have no pity for. But it sounds like they got these guys all banged up, gave them an RV and egged them into saying bad shit. The slavery comments could have been interpreted two ways. It sounded to me like they were agreeing with Borat, and saying woman should be slaves. Which still isn't right, but it isn't quite as bad as the other interpretation. If they had the guys sign the release forms when sober, no harm, no foul. But if they had them sign them drunk, it's unlawful. I don't care either way. It was a hilarious scene. I'm just saying, I can understand why they are pissed. If someone was getting rich out of making me look like a jackass I'd be pissed to and try and cash in any way I could, especially if I had a sound case to go to court with.

Cosmo, you better not have a secret movie planned with all this footage of people you have over the years that we never get to see.
