My in-laws live in OP. No power, snow everywhere about 8" on the ground there. Because there were so many leaves still left on the trees this caused much of the branches and trees to be down, which is more of a problem currently than the snow itself.
What happened is a cold stream came through off of Lake Superior and over to Lake Erie. The water temp for Lake Erie was still 60+ degrees therefore causing the snow to develop. And areas closest to the Lake and to the north of Buffalo were effected the.
I'll try and get a report from vinny.

Hey, here's some fun: substitute the word "cock" for "snow" in this thread. Hilarity ensues.
"How many inches of cock did you get?" Great stuff.

A Wreck, 90 percent of trees are damaged in city. tons without power. Seriously looks like a hurricane went thru Buffalo. Richmond Ave, Elmwood, Delaware trees are destroyed and the nice city streets look like crap. Trees everywhere. DHARMA project was here to maintain the balance must like the league of shadows in Batman Begins.....

A quick summary of my storm and blackout experiences, as I emailed to Rimrocka this morning. This weekend suck-diddly-ucked, Flanders. But at least I got good and BENT.
Friday I slept until noon, made some French Toast, and shoveled for the next four hours. Then I showered and walked to a buddy's house down past Doc's, who never lost power or cable. I then drank a lot of beer and blacked out during the blackout. Saturday I scored the hockey tickets and knew I needed gas to get down there. I drove around, but every gas station had no electricity, and therefore no gas. I really thought I was going to run out before I found an open station. I finally found an open place and waited in line 45 minutes to get gas. Then it was off to the game. I got there right after the national anthems, and enjoyed the Sabres place a whoopin on the Rangers. Then back to the corner bar, which was the only place on Abbott Road with power. I ended up at another buddy's place emptying his sump pump for a while, carrying pitchers of water from a hole in the ground to the basement sink. We also carried all the basement valuables upstairs by candlelight. It would have been very romantic if I was gay. Driving down my street at night was crazy. I've never seen it so dark. I had my high beams on a residential road; it's nuts! Tree limbs lying everywhere made it an obstacle course. Front lawns are woodpiles. I've never seen anything like it. Worst of all, I couldn't check fantasy yesterday. I tried throwing a football around for a bit, but I jacked up my right wrist shoveling Friday. I couldn't grip the stupid ball. So I threw left handed. It wasn't a pretty sight. So now there's no power, and therefore no laundry or ironed clothes. That's not as bad as no heat, but I could use a fresh pair of underoos. At least we still have hot water.

"McFly you bojo! Those boards don't work on water! Unless you've got power!" My hoverboard would work on water. I got power back last night.
